As a travel photographer and writer, it is a dream come true to immerse myself completely for 90 days in my favorite subject, the Mississippi Great River Road. Amazingly, that opportunity has now presented itself! I am working on a book about life along the Great River Road and will wander it for 90 days, following the Mississippi River on ts great journey from Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico.

Why 90 days? Because it is estimated a single raindrop would travel that long to complete the entire journey. I will keep pace with my imaginary raindrop, meeting hundreds of interesting people as I explore river towns, cities and rural communities. I will spend countless hours in the company of the ancient, mysterious Mississippi, and experience the beauty of the River in all of its moods.
